Working Student Venture Capital AI (16-24 hours p/w)

We are a radically human venture capital firm that invests in cutting edge European technology startups in the early stages (Seed to Series B, companies up to ~75 employees) Based in Amsterdam, we’re now investing from our second fund (c.€150m).

Our portfolio companies are active in a diverse set of tech sectors, using anything from NLP models to more pure software plays. Our current portfolio companies include the likes of Crisp, Bodyguard, Lucinity, Gourmey, Lendis, Mollie, Klima, Plan A and many other great companies.

We are a thesis-driven VC fund, meaning that we do deep-dives on tech trends and form an opinion on them before we make investments.

We’re looking to add a Working Student Venture Capital to our Amsterdam-based team. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic person who lives and breathes tech and can work as part of our team. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, data-driven, personable and has a good sense of humor(!). In particular, we’re looking for someone to support us on our AI-theses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You’ll be an integral part of our team, playing a key role in our thesis research and will support us in forming a point of view on new tech trends:
• Tech trends: map and analyse innovative emerging tech fields as part of our broader thesis-driven investment approach—do deep dives in anything from generative AI, API management, fintech, MLOps, the data stack, and help us find the next Snowflake
• Deal sourcing: identify promising companies in the tech fields you research

REQUIREMENTS:

• A true passion for technology—you visit GitHub more than Instagram, you get excited about React, Angular, Vuejs, Django etc., and you see the potential of tech more broadly
• Independent worker, organized go-getter, and you love research and diving into new topics
• Currently studying or having just graduated from a technical course in a field like computer science or engineering
• Intellectual curiosity with a ‘what does this button do’ attitude and analytical abilities to boot
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
• Did we mention a sense of humour?
• Fluent in English and even better if you’re fluent in Javascript or Python
• Bonus points if you have experience or have done interesting things using 3rd party APIs and web scraping tools

CONTRACT:

• Paid position (€15 / hour)
• 16 hours / week (1 day of which is in our central Amsterdam office)
• Minimum period of 6 months
• ASAP ideal, but starting date flexible
• Must have a valid EU work permit
